Identification, Rental Bond & Fees

Identification Requirements

We require a copy of your identification to confirm your identity before hire.

We accept:

Australian driver's licence
Proof of Age card
Passport

At checkout, you'll be asked to upload a digital copy of your ID. We use an encrypted service to accept and store this information.

On pickup, our team may also ask to sight your ID in person, to confirm the booking is being collected by you (or someone you've nominated).

If someone else is collecting on your behalf, we'll take a copy of their identification at pickup — the person collecting the equipment takes on responsibility for it for the duration of the hire.

We will never share your identification with any third party. Your ID is deleted from our system 90 days after your order is completed - you may also request immediate delection one your booking has been returned. See our Privacy Policy for more information.

How Our Rental Bond Works

A rental bond is charged at checkout — this is a separate charge to the card used for your booking, not a hold or pre-authorisation. The bond is $100 for most bookings; bookings over $1000 incur a $200 bond.

The bond covers late returns and equipment returned in poor condition — it does not cover loss or damage, which may incur additional fees (see below).

Once your equipment is returned in good condition and on time, your bond is refunded. Refund processing times vary by bank, and typically take 5–10 business days to appear back on your statement.

Fees

Fees may apply if equipment is:

Returned late
Returned in poor condition
Damaged (including water damage)
Where fees apply, we'll deduct them from your rental bond and issue an amended invoice showing the adjustment. If fees exceed the value of the bond, the remaining balance will be charged to the card used for your original booking.

How to avoid fees

  • Return equipment on time, in the same condition it was received — free from dirt, dust, or other grime.
  • Return all items, including accessories, cables, remotes, and stands.
  • Keep equipment away from liquids — including being mindful of weather conditions if using equipment outdoors.
